On behalf of the men and women of the South Placer Fire District, welcome to our web site. Through this site we hope to provide useful information about the fire district and the various ways we serve the community, both in the traditional emergency service capacity and non-traditional customer service related areas.

The South Placer Fire District serves a unique area in South Placer County. We serve a wide range of customers from those citizens in residential neighborhoods to employees, local business and recreational visitors to our state parks. As illustrated in our mission statement, we are continually striving to meet and exceed the expectations of our residents, businesses, customers and partners.

As with many fire agencies, we are proud of our history, our current commitment to service and our well established plans to move forward into the future. The information available on this web site will assist you in understanding our commitment to our community and customer service. Fire Chief Tony Corado

Announces Retirement

 

Chief Corado has been in the field of the Fire Service and Emergency Medical Services for over 33 years, beginning his career with the South Placer Fire District at the age of 18. He has served assignments in the Maintenance Division, Dispatch Center, Basic & Advanced Life Support Services, Fire Prevention, Arson Investigation and Fire Operations. He has held the ranks of Firefighter, Crew Chief, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief and in May of 1998 was appointed Fire Chief.

 

Tony has served on many State and Local organizations: Fire Agencies Insurance Risk Authority, Fire Districts Association of California Legislation Task Force, Northern California Fire Prevention Officers, Sacramento Valley Fire Prevention Officers, Placer/Nevada County Arson Taskforce, Placer County Fire Chiefs Association, California State Office of Emergency Services Operational Area Coordinator and a 19 year member of the Granite Bay Kiwanis Club. Chief Corado has an Associate’s Degree from Sierra Community College and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s four year Executive Fire Officer Program.

 

Over the 14 years Tony served as Fire Chief the South Placer Fire District continued to provide one of the highest levels of emergency services to the citizens of the Granite Bay, Placer County and the State of California.  

 

Tony’s last day with the South Placer Fire District will be June 1, 2012.
