SPFD Appoints New Chief Upon Chief’s Retirement

 

Nov. 19, 2025, GRANITE BAY/LOOMIS, CA – On Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, the South Placer Fire District (SPFD) Board of Director’s congratulated Chief Mark Duerr who announced on Nov. 6, 2025, he would retire on Dec. 31, 2025. After a closed session meeting that evening, SPFD Board Chair Tracy Randall also announced the Board of Directors had unanimously appointed Deputy Chief Darin Snedeker to be the next SPFD Chief effective Jan. 1, 2026, pending finalization of a contract. Active Burn Day Information

Burn Permits

 

A residential burn permit is required for burning on all residential properties in the South Placer Fire District. Issuance of Burn Permits is suspended during the Burn Ban. To get your burn permit online, click here.

 

Burn permits also are available, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, outside the front door at the following fire stations:

 

  • Station 16 – 5300 Olive Ranch Road, Granite Bay
  • Station 17 – 6900 Eureka Road, Granite Bay
  • Station 18 – 5840 Horseshoe Bar Road, Loomis
  • Station 19 – 7070 Auburn-Folsom Road, Granite Bay
  • Station 20 – 3505 Auburn-Folsom Road, Loomis

Illegal Fireworks

 

It is currently illegal to use, purchase or sell fireworks, including “safe and sane” fireworks, in the South Placer Fire District. .
