South Placer Fire District - April Board Meeting

Your South Placer Fire District conducted a benefit assessment of Division 2 of the Fire District response area, commonly known as Granite Bay and Loomis areas along the Auburn-Folsom corridor.

Your local Fire District asked parcel owners for additional funding to support a continued level of fire and emergency medical services that it currently provides to the communities it serves. The Fire District's goal with a successful benefit assessment was to keep the South Placer Fire District Solvent, Sustainable, and Independent. A Proposition 218 benefit assessment would insure fiscal responsibility with multiple levels of accountability. Starting with a citizens' oversight committee that would meet yearly to scrutinize monies collected followed by yearly approval by community elected Fire District Board of Directors.

Ballots were mailed to parcel owners within the Division 2 area of the fire district on April 20th, 2022. Under CA Proposition 218, a minimum of 45 days must be allowed for parcel owners who received ballots to return said ballots. The closing of this 45 day window occurred on June 8th, 2022 at a regularly scheduled Fire District Board of Directors Meeting. Ballots were accepted up to the closing of this meeting.

This live stream allows the community to witness the legal Proposition 218 ballot tally proceeding. In addition to witness this process virtually, any member of the community is welcome to attend in person.
